Radiation Safety

The Radiation Safety Program at UNH oversees the safe use of radioactive materials on campus and provides guidance for the compliance with regulations of the Federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the State of NH Department of Health and Human Services, Radiological Health Section.

Laser Safety

The Laser Safety Program at UNH oversees the safe use of lasers on campus. It provides guidance for the compliance with Federal standards of the American National Standard for the Use of Lasers (ANSI Z136-1 and ANSI Z136.8) and regulations of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

Magnet Safety

The Magnet Safety Program at UNH oversees the safe use of superconducting magnerts or NMRs. All superconducting magnets should be registered into CEMS. Training is required annually for anyone using a superconducting magnet.

The X-Ray Safety Program at UNH oversees the safe use of X-Ray devices on campus. It provides guidance for the compliance with the NH Rules for the Control of Radiation regulated by the Radiological Health Section of the State of NH Health and Human Services.
