Federal Prohibition on Certain UAS in Research (Effective December 22, 2025)
As of December 22, 2025, researchers may not procure, operate, or otherwise use unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) (e.g. drones) manufactured or assembled by covered foreign entities when conducting work under federally funded contracts, grants, or cooperative agreements.
