Environmental Health & Safety

The Office of Environmental Health and Safety (OEHS) works to assure safe and healthful environments for all segments of the campus population through programs of information and education, review and monitoring, technical consultation and provision of direct services. OEHS is also responsible for developing programs to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations, and campus policies on environmental health and safety.

Research and Large Center Development

Research and Large Center Development (RLCD) helps faculty and other researchers develop strategies and build skills for grant seeking; facilitates development of competitive proposals; coordinates UNH responses to special funding and award programs; nominates UNH researchers for prestigious external prizes, awards, and appointments; and amplifies collaborative research activities to expand UNH’s capacity to pursue major multi- and interdisciplinary research initiatives that garner national and international recognition, including implementation of the Collaborative Research Excellence Initiative (CoRE).

Research Integrity Services

Research Integrity Services administers UNH’s program for the protection of human subjects in research and the UNH Institutional Review Board (IRB); administers UNH’s program for the humane care and use of vertebrate animals, and the UNH Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC); manages UNH’s responsible conduct of research and scholarly activity program; administers UNH’s financial conflict of interest in research program and the UNH Disclosure Review Committee (DRC); oversees UNH's compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) ; and provides consultation to UNH faculty regulatory groups.

Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA) assists the University System of New Hampshire’s (USNH) research community in its efforts to  secure external funding by providing high quality administrative, contracting and financial services to ensure proper stewardship of those funds and to minimize the risk to university resources.

Our purpose is to support and enhance USNH’s reputation while working to achieve strategic goals with broad services in the following areas: Proposal Development and submission, contracting, post award management and administrative guidance. SPA is responsible for assisting faculty and staff with proposals, negotiation of grant and contract terms and conditions, financial and administrative management of grants and contracts and training on research administration topics. SPA is an experienced resource for faculty and staff who engage in research and scholarly activities and who work to advance our strategic goals through externally supported projects and programs.

The University Instrumentation Center is a University-wide core facility dedicated to the advancement of the research and academic missions of UNH and the surrounding research community. The UIC is open and available to all faculty, staff, and students as well as non-UNH academic entities, government, and industrial customers.
