Types of aid

Ways to fund your future

From scholarships to loans, here’s a breakdown of the types of financial aid that help most Wildcats make UNH possible.

Scholarships

Scholarships go beyond grades, recognizing leadership, service, research, and more. Explore financial aid options you won’t need to pay back.

Grants

Grants are need-based aid that you don’t repay, like Pell, FSEOG, tuition, opportunity, and athletic grants that help make UNH more affordable.

Work-study jobs

Work-study provides part-time jobs funded by federal aid, letting undergrad and grad students earn money for school without taking on more debt.

Student loans

Federal, PLUS, private, and grad loans are available to UNH students. Remember: Unlike grants or scholarships, loans must be paid back.
