Heather Tomlinson, Grant & Contract Administrator I, UNH Support Team for the Administration of Research (STAR)

Heather Tomlinson has earned enthusiastic support from colleagues across STAR, Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA), and Financial Compliance. She consistently exceeds the expectations of her GCA 1 role through her initiative, expertise, and commitment to supporting the team.

Heather is always willing to step up—covering for colleagues, proactively identifying payroll and funding issues, addressing award deficits and closeouts, and reviewing transactions for allowability and budget availability before problems arise. Her proactive approach improves efficiency across SPA and STAR.

For the third consecutive year, Heather has played a critical role in UNH’s Effort Certification process, dedicating significant time to Workday testing, troubleshooting, report validation, and assisting PIs. She also was instrumental in the Workday reconfiguration, identifying issues, testing solutions, and helping colleagues and faculty navigate new processes.

As one colleague noted, “Heather has been one of the driving forces behind many of our most significant operational successes this year.” Her dedication, initiative, and ability to turn complex challenges into practical solutions make her highly deserving of this recognition.
