Contractor Safety

The University of New Hampshire has a duty to its students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community to provide a safe and healthful working/learning environment.  The work conducted by contractors at UNH can impact the safety of our community and property. To assist in achieving this goal, UNH had developed a Contractor Safety program to address certain specific responsibilities each contractor has when working at UNH.

Role of the Contractor Safety Program at UNH

The purpose of the Contractor Safety program is to communicate the availability of hazard information for UNH owned and leased properties, to outline UNH’s safety and environmental procedures, and to communicate additional requirements or expectations of Contractors above and beyond legal requirements.

Each Contractor retained to conduct services for UNH is responsible for fulfilling the requirements of the contract in a manner that protects the health and safety of the UNH community and environment.  To this end, UNH expects that Contractors shall comply with the contents of the program and any project-specific guidelines developed by UNH.
