Jennifer Miksis-Olds, interim vice president for research and innovation
Jennifer Miksis-Olds, interim vice president for research and innovation, is a marine acoustician recognized for her extensive contributions to underwater acoustic research. The founding director of the Center for Acoustics Research and Education at UNH, her research employs acoustic methodologies to answer biological questions in the marine environment. Prior to joining the University of New Hampshire, she served in a variety of leadership and research positions at The Pennsylvania State University, including the founding director of the Center for Marine Science and Technology. In recognition of her contributions to the field of ocean acoustics, she was awarded the Presidential Early Career Award in Science and Engineering in 2013. She earned her doctorate in oceanography from the University of Rhode Island, has authored or co-authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications, and is the recipient of more than $25 million in grants and contracts.
