The UNH Research Fieldwork Safety Program and the Research Fieldwork Safety Committee have discontinued operations due to lack of institutional funding. Some fieldwork safety support may transition to unit-level safety committees. Please contact your unit safety committee for information about available resources and support.
The committee would like to thank the researchers who submitted 25 field safety plans over the past three years, participated in over 40 trainings and workshops, and contributed valuable feedback to improve the field safety plan template.
Conducting safe fieldwork requires careful planning and preparation. The following resources remain available to principal investigators conducting off-site fieldwork:
Bringing in the Bystander training through PIRC
Prevention education through the SHARPP Center
Principal investigators conducting NSF-funded fieldwork must continue to comply with NSF requirements for safe and harassment-free fieldwork plans. Please contact your Grant Contract Administrator for additional information.
