Data Sets and Data Infrastructure Resources

Data Infrastructure Resources for Social Science
A list of infrastructure resources created by researchers supported by the National Science Foundation's Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences Directorate presented with the goal of advancing research in all areas of social, behavioral and economic research

EarthData - Gateway to NASA Earth Observation Data
The Earth Science Data Systems (ESDS) Program provides full and open access to NASA’s collection of Earth science data for understanding and protecting our home planet.

Earth Observation Data for NSF-Funded Researchers
High-quality commercial Earth observation data is available to NSF-funded researchers at no additional cost through the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Commercial SmallSat Data Acquisition (CSDA) Program. The Dear Colleague letter linked above describes the process for gaining access to this imagery, the currently available datasets, and related training resources.

ERIC - Educational Resources Information Center
ERIC is an internet-based digital library of education research and information sponsored by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) of the U.S. Department of Education.
ERIC provides access to bibliographic records of journal and non-journal literature from 1966 to the present. ERIC's mission is to provide a comprehensive, easy-to-use, searchable Internet-based bibliographic and full-text database of education research and information for educators, researchers, and the general public.

Federal LCA Commons
LCA Commons is a central point of access to a collection of data repositories for use in Life Cycle Assessment research methods. This community of practice collaborates to share expertise and methods to move toward common Federal data modeling conventions and make Federal data sets freely available through a web-based data repository.

Food and Agricultural Education Information System
FAEIS is a federally mandated survey that compiles nationwide higher education data for the life, food, veterinary, human, natural resource, and agricultural sciences. These data include student enrollment, degrees awarded, transfer, and placement at all degree levels by gender and race/ethnicity. FAEIS also collects faculty counts and salaries by gender, race/ethnicity, and rank.

Global Ocean Biogeochemistry (GO-BGC) Array
GO-BGC utilizes autonomous robotic floats to measure temperature, salinity, pH, nitrate, chlorophyll, suspended particles, light, and derived parameters DIC, pCO2 and total alkalinity in the ocean from the surface to 2000m. These floats can operate continuously for years in all weather conditions, providing near real-time observations of ocean biogeochemistry and ecosystems throughout the world’s oceans.
