Hazardous Materials Management Plan

The Office of Environmental Health and Safety has developed a Hazardous Materials Management Plan (HMMP) to promote environmental compliance by reducing the quantity, volume, and toxicity of hazardous materials on campus.

A “hazardous material,” as defined by the USEPA, is any physical, biological, or chemical item, which has the potential to cause harm to living organisms or the environment.

Examples include chemicals that are toxic, corrosive, flammable, highly reactive, explosive, and/or emit ionizing radiation.
