Modes of Operation


RED - Remote Operations (current situation)

Conditions

  • COVID cases are increasing on and off campus
  • State stay at home or equivalent order
  • Medical resources are overwhelmed or at risk of being overwhelmed

Campus Status

  • Minimal operations
  • Essential staff only on campus
  • Research at 10% or less, essential only
  • No external events

Student Status

  • No on campus housing/dining other than housing insecure
  • No student events
  • All instruction remote

Faculty/Staff Status

  • All faculty and staff work remotely
    • ALimited use of classroom or office space for remote instruction
  • Essential staff on campus only to maintain safety and support operations

ORANGE - Limited Operations

Conditions

  • COVID cases are increasing on or off campus
  • State restrictions are being initiated
  • Medical resources are available and not at risk

Campus Status

  • Limited operations
  • Masks and social distancing required
  • Research enterprise reduced and no long-term experiments can be initiated
  • No external events

Student Status

  • On campus housing remains open
  • Dining restricted to take out
  • No student events
  • Instruction restricted. Larger classes go remote if they cannot maintain 25% classroom density.
  • All classes go remote for 1-2 weeks but students can stay on/off campus

Faculty/Staff Status

  • Low density (25-30%) of faculty and staff on campus in support of student operations only.

YELLOW - Restricted Operations (Anticipated Fall 2020)

Conditions

  • COVID cases are low on and off campus
  • No State restrictions – or State restrictions recommend use of masks and gatherings of 50
  • Medical resources are available and not at risk

Campus Status

  • Full operations on campus in support of students and teaching
  • Masks and social distancing required in public areas, classrooms and labs
  • Research enterprise operating at 90%
  • Selective external events

Student Status

  • On campus housing open reduced density, quarantine dorm available
  • Dining normal at reduced 50% density plus take out
  • Limited student events, focus on small groups and residential communities
  • Instruction face to face with lower density (50% or less)
  • Teaching Labs/Arts studio operate with masks plus face shields and appropriate PPE.

Faculty/Staff Status

  • Moderate density (50-60%) faculty and staff on campus in support of student operations, instruction and research.

GREEN - Normal Operations

Conditions

  • COVID cases contained
  • No restrictions on public gatherings and events

Campus Status

  • Full operations

Student Status

  • Student housing and dining at full operation
  • Classrooms and Learning at full density on campus

Faculty/Staff Status

  • Normal on-campus work for all faculty and staff
