Background and Career

I am originally from Manchester, NH but grew up mostly in Bangor, ME. I went to Southern New Hampshire University and graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor’s in Math Education. I was a commuter for my first two years and then became an RA my junior year – that was the time that I knew I would work in higher education in the future.

Because I loved what I got to do everyday, I decided to pursue a Masters in Higher Education Administration from Florida International University in Miami, FL and graduated in 2020. During my time at FIU, I did a summer orientation internship at UNH and enjoyed my experience so much it brought me back years later! I served as an Assistant Residence Life Coordinator and loved every second of my job in a new place with new people. There was a lot accomplished during my time there but of all, I am most thankful for the people I met who gave me a different perspective on working in higher education.

From there I had my first professional role during COVID and all that entailed. I then returned to SNHU as an Area Director and served there for almost five years. Being able to serve in the same residence hall as an RA and then RD is one of my proudest achievements!

About Me

I love all things DIY and crafting but particularly crocheting, painting, diamond art and scrapbooking. I also love to be outside and finding new trails to run or jog and spending time at the beach. If you like something I might be wearing, it’s probably thrifted because that’s my go-to on the weekend!

Why Residential Life?

I am a first-generation college student that didn’t know what to expect from the college experience. I commuted my first two years and moved onto campus my junior year as an RA. I originally wanted to teach middle school/high school math but after becoming an RA and working in the Office of Diversity Programs, I learned that I could make it a career. There is so much opportunity for learning and growth in the residence halls and in being active on campus – my goal is to make sure that students get the most experience out of college. I truly believe that you learn so much about yourself and the world in being on a college campus, and it brings me joy to see others find their passions and pursue their goals.
