FOR 2027-2028
Current UNH students who want to live on campus in the residence halls or on-campus apartments must apply via the Housing Portal. Depending on your housing requirement status, you will apply and select your room during the fall semester (October/November) or during the spring semester (February/March) for the following school year.
Students who submit their housing application by their respective self-selection deadline will be able to participate in the room self-selection process. Students who submit a housing application after the self-selection deadline will be placed on a waitlist to be hand assigned to a space based on availability.
Please note that Babcock Hall, due to it having a graduate student priority, has a unique selection process. Check out our website specific to Babcock Hall for more information.

Students Without a Housing Requirement
Submit Your Housing Application: Tuesday, October 13 - Monday, October 26, 2026 (1:00pm EDT)
Current UNH students who do not have a housing requirement for 2027-2028 can begin to submit their 2027-2028 housing application on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. Students who submit their application by 1:00pm EDT on Monday, October 26, 2026 will be able to participate in the room self-selection process. Students who submit their application after the deadline will be placed on the waitlist and housing offers will be made as space is available.
Cancellation fees may apply. If you select a space in on-campus housing and then choose to cancel your assignment, cancellation policies will apply - which may includes fees.
Students Without a Housing Requirement
October / November 2026
The 2027-2028 housing selection process for students without a housing requirement will occur in October and November 2026. Students who do not have a housing requirement for 2027-2028 and want to live on campus will need to participate in this process. Additional information will be available soon.

The 2027-2028 housing selection process for students without a housing requirement has passed. Students without a housing requirement can still submit a housing application and will be placed on the waitlist.
On-Campus Apartments

Residence Halls
| Phase 3: Residence Hall Selection for Current Hitchcock & Hubbard Hall Residents | |
| This phase is for students who currently live in Hitchcock or Hubbard Halls to select from spaces throughout the residence halls. At least one member of a roommate group must live in Hitchcock or Hubbard to participate. This special selection is occurring because Hitchcock and Hubbard Halls are being converted to first-year only communities for 2027-2028 and current residents are not able to renew to their building. This decision was made after residents were assigned to these buildings. | |

| This phase is for current residence hall residents who want to renew to live in their SAME residence hall. At least one member of a roommate group must live in a residence hall for the group to be able to choose from available spaces in that community. | |

| Phase 5: General Residence Hall Selection | |
| This phase is for students to choose from available spaces in a different residence hall than they currently live. During this phase, students will see all residence hall spaces available at that time. | |

Timeslots
Timeslots are randomized. Students will receive timeslots for any phase that they are eligible to participate in. If a student receives a timeslot and does not want to participate in that phase, simply ignore that timeslot/phase and wait for the one you want to participate in.
Example: If a student currently lives in a residence hall (that they are eligible to renew to) they would be able to participate in Phases 2, 4 and 5.
- If they want to try for an apartment - they should participate in Phase 2. If they do not want to live in the apartments - they can ignore Phase 2.
- If they want to renew to their current hall, they should participate in Phase 4.
- If they want to move to a different residence hall, they can ignore Phase 4 and wait for Phase 5.
Once a student has selected a space, their process is complete and will no longer receive timeslots for future phases.
Current off-campus residents (at time of selection): Off-campus residents will not receive timeslots during renewal phases (Phases 1 and 3). Groups comprised entirely of current off-campus residents will receive the latest timeslots (after all current on-campus residents) during each phase.
Students With a Housing Requirement
February / March 2027
The 2027-2028 housing selection process for students with a housing requirement will occur in February and March 2027. Students who have a housing requirement for 2027-2028 will need to participate in this process. Additional information will be available in late-Fall 2026 semester.
Can a student with a housing requirement participate in the application/selection process for students without a housing requirement? We recognize that friendships can cross academic classes and housing requirement statuses. Students who have a housing requirement that wish to live with a student(s) who does not have a housing requirement must contact Housing & Residential Life via email (housing@unh.edu) during the "non-required" process to request this ability. The student who has a housing requirement MUST be joining a roommate group that is comprised of at least 50% students who do not have a housing requirement. The deadline to submit this request to Housing & Residential Life is Friday, October 23 at 1pm EDT.

Students who submit their application after the deadline are still required to live on campus but will be hand assigned to a space based on availability.
