Students who would like to live on campus for just the Spring semester of an academic year must submit a Spring semester housing application via the Housing Portal. The application typically opens in October and is available until the start of the Spring semester. All Spring semester only housing applications are hand assigned to spaces by UNH Housing staff.

The spring semester housing application is not for students currently living on campus who would like to request a room change. Students in this situation should contact their Residence Hall Director/Manager (for the residence halls) or their Area Coordinator (for the on-campus apartments) for a room change.
Apply for Spring Housing in 3 Easy Steps
Step 1
Complete the online housing application via the Housing Portal.
Once logged into the Housing Portal, go to the "housing applications" menu and locate the Spring semester application.
Step 2
Wait for a housing assignment or housing offer and monitor your UNH email.
After your application is submitted, there is nothing you need to do except monitor your UNH email and wait to hear from us.
Step 3
Review your housing assignment or respond to a housing offer.
Students who have a housing requirement will receive a housing assignment. Students who do not have a housing requirement will receive a housing offer if space is available that meets the student's preferences.
Housing Assignments & Offers
Generally, we begin to make housing assignments and offers for Spring semester only applicants in December, with the bulk occurring in January. We understand that it can be stressful to wait; however, waiting until January to do assignments gives us the best possible space availability. Please note that if you reach out to us to inquire about the status of your assignment, we will likely respond that it is still to be determined.
Housing assignments for Spring semester only applicants are based on whether or not a student has an on-campus housing requirement.
Students with a Housing Requirement
Students who have a housing requirement are guaranteed on-campus housing. They will be hand assigned by UNH Housing staff and will be notified via email of their assignment once it has been completed. You do not have to accept or decline the assignment, as you are required to live on campus.
Students Who Do Not Have a Housing Requirement (Waitlist)
Students who do not have a housing requirement are placed on our housing waitlist and are not guaranteed on-campus housing. They will receive a housing offer if space is available. We do everything we can to meet student preferences, but we may not be able to. Students on the waitlist who receive a housing offer must respond to the offer to either accept or decline. It is important to monitor your UNH email closely, as offers are time sensitive and may expire.
Meal Plans
If you receive/accept an assignment in the residence halls, a meal plan is required and you will be asked to come back to the Housing Portal to choose your desired meal plan. If you receive/accept an assignment in the on-campus apartments or Babcock Hall, a meal plan is not required, but you can choose to opt into a meal plan via the “Meal Plan” tab in the Housing Portal.
