Why did I choose to become a hall director? I am one of those people who believes education should be as dynamic and fun as it is challenging. There is nothing I love more about my job than watching students discover something new about themselves and their interests with smiles on their faces. As a Hall Director, I'm able to combine my enthusiasm for teaching and programming with my love of laughter. After all, learning doesn't stop at the classroom—the world has so much to offer, so let's get exploring!

Why did I choose to work in ResLife at UNH?  To a born-and-raised California kid, the thought of living in New Hampshire used to be more than a little intimidating. But from my very first interaction with the ResLife department here at UNH, I was greeted with a sense of community and genuine kindness that made me excited to pack my bags and be a part of such a welcoming staff. I appreciate and admire the culture of support and encouragement seen everywhere throughout the department. UNH absolutely cares about the individual needs of both staff and students, and with them I am able to be my best and most genuine self.

What advice would I give to students? My advice to students is to stop and smell the roses. Remember to take some time for you. While it's tempting to try anything and everything you can—and you should try lots of things, you definitely should!—you run the risk of wearing down your batteries too early. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a little rest. Whether it's taking a quiet walk around campus, relaxing at the beach, or sitting down with tea and a good book, don't forget to take some time to slow down and appreciate the little things.
