Packing List & Prohibited Items

On this page you can find what's in the room, a list of prohibited items and what to bring! Use these lists as a guide for items you may want to bring for your on-campus space. Communicate with your roommate about who will bring large or shared items so you don’t duplicate efforts. 

What's in the room?

  • Twin bed with 36x80" mattress (twin XL)
  • Desk and chair
  • Dresser
  • Closet space
  • Window blinds
  • Bed guard rail 
  • Some halls have bunkable or loftable beds

You will be responsible for these items for the length of your stay.

Every room on-campus is fully furnished but the furniture may vary slightly. Find out below the dimensions of the most common items and which halls are the exception to the rule. You can also learn which halls have bunkable or loftable beds.

Prohibited Items

For the safety of all residents, please do not bring the following items. You may not plug multiple power strips together, alter smoke detectors, or remove furniture from the room.

  • Toaster oven
  • Electric blanket
  • Hot plates
  • Air condition units
  • Items non-recognized to a UL standard by a nationally recognized testing laboratory
  • Halogen lamps
  • Candles/incense
  • Pets-except non-dangerous fish in a 10 gallon or less tank
  • Firearms/weapons including airsoft guns

*Microwaves rated with a power output of 800 watts or less, either a stand-alone unit or a part of a microwave-refrigerator combination.

*Refrigerators sized less than 4.5 cubic feet are permitted. You can have one refrigerator per two students. 

*Bikes – Some halls, but not all, have indoor bike rooms to lock up bikes. All halls have outdoor bike racks.
