Pettee Brook Cleanup
April 22, 4 - 5:30 pm

(25 slots, register in advance, walking distance to campus)

We'll be visiting Strafford and Rosemary Avenue in Durham to pick up and track litter using the Litterati mobile app. Litterati helps log and categorize the trash you pick up from natural areas and trails near you and has led to packaging changes by corporations based on litter data, so your efforts could contribute to even more big change!

UNH Earth Day 2021: College Woods Buckthorn Blitz

April 23, 2-3 PM

Register in advance, open to UNH community members enrolled in the COVID testing program

College Woods and the UNH Office of Woodlands & Natural Areas need you! This special forest on the UNH campus is being overrun with glossy buckthorn, a non-native invasive shrub that crowds out native plants. We’ll be hand-pulling buckthorn to help improve the health of College Woods using COVID safety protocols including masks and social distancing.
