The mission of International SOS is to protect travelers from health and security threats. They have 13,000 security, medical, logistics and digital experts standing by to provide support and assistance from over 1,200 locations in 90 countries, 24/7, 365 days. All faculty, staff and students traveling abroad on UNH-related activities have access to International SOS travel assistance services.
All digital information and Assistance Center advice calls are free of charge for travelers.

Payments for services rendered will depend on the individual traveler’s insurance coverage. Review your insurance program and benefits to see if you will be covered for International SOS expenses and fees.
Students studying abroad on Partner Programs, should check their provider’s coverage or the plan they purchased, and if the insurer recommends a different travel assistance service.
Faculty, staff and students on these program types (Faculty-led, Exchange, Graduate Student International Travel and Other International Experiences) follow this link to review the UNH international travelers’ medical and security insurance coverage.
If a traveler is ineligible or requests services that are not insured/not approved by the insurer, the traveler is responsible for paying all costs and International SOS service fees. Some providers may require payment up front.

Can I call International SOS if it is not an emergency?
Yes, the International SOS Assistance Center is available 24/7 for any health or safety question you may have whether you are at home preparing for the trip or abroad and have questions.
The International SOS online portal contains extensive travel, medical and security information for every country around the world. You can login using your UNH/PSU email with the UNH International SOS membership number: 11BCAS000009.

You may call the 24-hour International SOS Assistance Center at 1-215-942-8478, which is staffed by medical staff, logistics coordinators, and security experts.
You also will receive an extensive pre-trip advisory by email when you register your trip in the International Travel Registry.
