Published once each semester since 2017, the University Writing Program Newsletter supports faculty across the university in strengthening writing within their courses and curricula. Each issue offers practical, research‑informed guidance on teaching with writing, highlights current conversations in writing studies, and shares updates about Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) programming at UNH.
Across the years, the newsletter has featured topics that matter to faculty teaching in all disciplines—from designing effective writing assignments and integrating low‑stakes writing, to navigating AI writing technologies, citation practices, peer review models, and strategies for supporting multilingual writers. Regular sections such as Dangling Modifier and The Grammar Box translate writing pedagogy and grammar questions into approachable, classroom‑ready insights.
The newsletter also showcases faculty and student profiles, reports from workshops and retreats, and curated excerpts from open‑access texts in the field of writing studies. These pieces help connect UNH instructors to emerging scholarship, campus resources, and the broader teaching‑with‑writing community.
All past issues, from Spring 2017 to the present, are archived on this site for faculty to explore. We hope the newsletter continues to serve as a practical resource and an ongoing conversation about how writing enriches learning across the university.
