Jes Crowell
DIRECTOR OF TRIO SCHOLARS
Jes has been the director of TRIO Scholars (SSS) at UNH since January of 2022; previously, she was a Title III grant administrator and an adjunct faculty member (she taught computer applications, foundations of quantitative analysis, math for educators, English composition, and first-year experience). Before working in higher ed, she worked as a K-12 Gifted and Talented teacher, a fourth-grade teacher, and a computer technology teacher in Maine school districts.
Jes received her undergraduate degree in elementary education with a concentration in mathematics and her master’s in education from Thomas College. She also has a certificate of advanced graduate studies (CAGS) in curriculum and instructional strategies from the University of New England and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University. Jes also holds five Maine Department of Education certifications, including Building Administrator for K-12.
Jes has always been a Mainer and grew up in the tip-top of Maine in Aroostook County. On weekends, she resides in Maine with her husband, a Yorkie, and three cats, but wishes her three adult sons still lived with them at home. She loves to travel to tropical locations with her husband – they love learning about new cultures and customs. Her passion is helping students, especially those in education and mathematics. Jes’s background is reflective of the participants in TRIO Scholars, and she thrives in helping and working with participants, and connecting them with our campus partners. She is an avid reader, loves to be outdoors (in the summer and fall), and is a life-long learner. She loves meeting UNH students and assisting in helping them when they don't know what they don't know.
