*CeDiD (Certified Electronic Document Identifier)
Each CeDiploma is identical to its paper sibling, but presented in an electronic, secure and verifiable format.
The credential can be validated online one of two ways:
1) DIPLOMA VALIDATION PAGE: To ensure the credential information is valid, a CeDiploma should be validated through The University of New Hampshire's Validation Page using a 12-digit Certified Electronic Document ID (CeDiD*), along with the first two letters of the name as it appears on the document.
2) DIGITAL SIGNATURE: Each CeDiploma is digitally signed by CeCredential Trust. When the document is viewed through Adobe Reader or Acrobat versions 9.0 or higher, it will reveal that a Digital Signature has been applied to the document.
Adobe Reader® and Acrobat® use a blue ribbon across the top of the document to indicate that the document has not been tampered with, and is therefore authentic.
Attn. Mac users: When viewing an official electronic credential from University of New Hampshire, the software utilizes Adobe’s secure certified PDF technology and therefore may only be viewed using the free Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat 9.0 or higher. The default Mac preview application will not display the document correctly.
If you have any further questions, or need additional help, please email unh.diploma@unh.edu. For all inquiries, we ask that you kindly include the CeDiD number, and the name of the Alumni as it appears on the credential.
You can obtain your CeDiploma through the CeDiploma Overview which has a direct link to CeCredentialTrust, a third party vendor of the University of New Hampshire.
Currently a CeDiploma is only available for The University of New Hampshire for May 2017 graduates and forward.
Yes, you can download a digitally signed copy of your CeDiploma. You can then email it to anyone you desire, and it will retain the Adobe Digital Signature and CeDiD for validation purposes.
There are two ways to validate your electronic diploma (this also is noted on the second page of the diploma).
Validate through the University website, or by clicking the link on the 2nd page of the CeDiploma and typing the necessary information where indicated.
If you are using Adobe Reader or Acrobat 9.0 or higher, you will be able to view the Digital Signature which is shown at the top of the PDF, and is part of the overall security of the document. If the Digital Signature shows a Blue Ribbon, it means that document has not been tampered with; any other symbol signifies the document cannot be trusted.
Please note: Other PDF/digital readers and some mobile devices may not be able to show the Digital Signature/Blue Ribbon.
CeCredential Trust is the branded name of the digital signature that the University of New Hampshire's vendor uses to digitally sign the CeDiploma.
This issue is due to the version of your operating system on your tablet, or the PDF viewer that the browser is using to open the CeDiploma. In the case of the iPhone/iPad, updating to the most recent iOS operating system usually solves the problem.
The CeDiploma is best viewed in Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Reader. Some features may not be available when viewed in a web browser’s default viewer. Please change the default viewer in your web browser so that it utilizes Adobe Reader or Acrobat.

The CeDiploma has printing disabled so it cannot be printed. Your CeDiploma is official as long as it is digital.
