HOOT REGISTRATION OPEN 6/1! Honors students should check their email in late May for program information.
Find your community and get a head start on your Honors requirements in the context of adventure and skill-building
HOOT makes the transition to college easy and fun, offering first year Honors students the opportunity to make connections and build a sense of belonging in a challenging and exciting environment.
HOOT 2026
HOOT participants move into their residence halls on Wednesday, August 26th.
Then spend 3 days/2 nights camping, adventuring, and building community on 100+ acres of private forest at The Browne Center, UNH's partner in Innovative Learning.
Finally, join the rest of the first-year population on the afternoon of Friday, August 28th for Wildcat Days, UNH's new student move-in weekend experience.
"I went into HOOT feeling anxious about the transition to college, not knowing the ins and outs of how it all worked, uneasy about making friends, and finding a place where I fit in. HOOT cured all of those anxieties in the first few hours of being there."
-Raegan French, '28
