Join us for Wildcat Days 2023

Friday, August 25 - Sunday, August 27

Wildcat Days is a dynamic and fun program for our incoming students that takes place the weekend before fall classes begin on Monday, August 28. There are a variety of mandatory and social activities and meetings throughout the weekend to help students settle into campus and get ready for the year.

Below is a rundown of Wildcat Days. A complete schedule will be given to all students at move-in.

All programs listed with an * are required for all incoming students

Note: All locations written in bold are new changes to the schedule 

 
Friday
Move-in

8 AM - 4 PM 

Residence Halls  Settle into your residence hall with the helps of our RAs and the Wildcat Welcome Crew 
Floor Meetings * 6 PM- 7 PM  Residence Halls

Your RA will communicate the exact time for your mandatory floor meetings during this time-block. These meetings are your first opportunity to get to know the people you will be living with and learn about what it means to be a part of a residential community.  

MUBfest 7 PM- 10 PM  Memorial Union Building

MUBFest is a tradition for all first year students at UNH! Do you like free food? What about a chance to win awesome prizes like Apple AirPods? This event is a crash course for all the MUB has to offer through the year. There will be UNH merch, escape rooms, trivia, dancing, a Zen Zone and more. Plus refresh that wardrobe or find some new res hall decor at Trash 2 Treasure!

Academic Welcome* 10 AM  Whittemore Center Campus Welcome from the Associate Deans
Wildcats & Wellbeing* 10:30 AM  Whittemore Center Starting college comes with building new habits and exploring new things about yourself and your new home. Hear from Health & Wellness, Psychological and Counseling Services (PACS), and the Civil Rights and Equity Office about how to prioritize your well-being, make healthy decision during your time at UNH, and how to access support when you want it. 
CHHS Academic Launch 1:00 - 2:30 PM HRC MAC East Gym

CHHS students will come together to take their CHHS Class of 2027 group picture, get to know their academic advisors and peer mentors, and learn more about fall class schedules. 

*Mandatory for all CHHS students. 

PAUL Academic Launch 1:00-3:00PM  Johnson Theatre Details coming soon
CEPS Session 2:15-2:45PM  Johnson Theatre

CEPS Students will come together for  Welcome from the CEPS Dean, advising staff and current students, and class of 2027 group photo. 

*Mandatory for all CEPS students 

Cat Pack Kickoff* 3:15 PM Whittemore Center Head to Memorial Field for the beloved tradition of taking a class photo that will be displayed in the MUB!
After, you will be joined by members of UNH’s administration, senate, and members of the Cat Pack Captains to help you kickoff your college experience!
Campus Picnic 4:30-7 PM  Location Change: Holloway Commons

Continue your celebration with a picnic, hosted by UNH’s Dining Services.  

Location change: Holloway Commons (HoCo) due to weather

Resource Fair* 5-7 PM Memorial Union Building- Strafford Room

Come to the Stafford Room during dinner to learn about resources available to you here at UNH. Enter in a chance to win prizes by visiting as many tables as you can!  

Location Change: MUB Strafford Room due to weather

Wildcat Bash 7-10 PM Great Lawn (Outside of Thompson Hall) Join your fellow Wildcats at the great Lawn for a fun night of carnival-esque games like skee ball, axe throwing, obstacles courses, life size foosball and more!

Choose Your Own Adventure! 

Offering a wide range of programs throughout the day, Choose your Own Adventure Sunday is your chance to settle in and do what you need to do to feel prepared to begin classes on Monday. Scroll through all the Choose Your Own Adventure options below! 

Morning Run in College Woods 8 AM  Meet at Wildcat Statue  Join Campus Recreation for a 3 mile run through College Woods! 
Morning Yoga  10 AM  Fishbowl (Outside Scott Hall) Join Campus Recreation for an outdoor yoga session. Bring your own mat if you have it! Limited mats are available- first come, first serve
Calendaring with CFAR 11 AM- 12 PM  MUB 334/336 and MUB 338/340  Get a handle on your fall schedule! Calendar and scheduling resources will be provided. Bring your laptop and a friend. Let's see what the semester holds!
Getting to Know Fraternity & Sorority Life

MUB Theatre 1 Looking to get involved with student organizations driven by social networking, philanthropy, community service, leadership development, career development, brotherhood/sisterhood, and so much more? Come explore what our Fraternity and Sorority Life Community at UNH has to offer. With 22 active organizations, two councils, an honors society, and representing about 16% of the undergraduate student body. This engaging community might be the best place to start your journey. In this session, you'll learn all about what FSL offers and ways to begin the recruitment process!
Sustainability- Learn, Practice, Lead 11 AM- 12 PM  MUB 330  Connect with the UNH Sustainability Institute and discover opportunities to learn, practice and lead like a changemaker.
Find Your Classes Tours 11 AM  Hood House  Bring your course schedule and meet outside of Hood House on campus. Orientation Leaders will help you find your classes for the upcoming semester! 
Dimond Library Resource Table & Library Tour

Students can drop by Dimond Library Lobby to visit the resource table and Ask us Anything!  Students who visit the table can enter our raffle.

 

Explore how the library can help you succeed! Meet in Dimond Library Lobby at 2 PM and bring a laptop, tablet, or smartphone to this interactive session where you'll learn about the many resources, spaces, and services available through the UNH Library.

Women's Field Hockey 12 PM Memorial Field Watch the Women's Field Hockey team compete against Michigan State at Memorial Field! No tickets needed.
E-Center Open House 1 PM - 3 PM  21 Madbury Road (doors under orange roof across from Hop & Grind) Come meet student ambassadors at the ECenter and experience the home for ideas, innovation, and entrepreneurship at UNH! We will have free nitro cold brew available, Ben & Jerry's mini-cups along with tours of the ECenter, the Makerspace, and learn about the events we have planned for this fall. We can't wait to meet you!
Target Trips 1 PM & 2 PM Meet at 10 Academic Way Need any last minute items for your residence hall room or for classes starting up? Sign up to take a shuttle for a trip to target. Seats are limited! Click here to sign up for a trip

Vision Boards & Self Care 2 PM - 4 PM  Wolff House Stop by Wolff House to set your intentions for the upcoming year through vision boards and other self-care activities. The space will be quiet and low-key and you are not required to stay for the entire time. Craft supplies will be provided but you are also welcome to bring your own!
Intramural 101 2 PM- 5 PM  Hamel Recreation Center Interested in Intramural Sports? Need a team? Come discover Intramural Sports offerings and how to register. Drop into the HRC  to learn more!
Outdoor Adventures & the Bouldering Wall  2 PM - 5 PM  Hamel Recreation Center 2nd Floor  Explore the Granite State with Outdoor Adventures! Equipment, skills, and transportation to help you enjoy the mountains and ocean. Visit Campus Recreation's Bouldering Wall 2-5pm for more info on classes, competitions, and trips.
HRC Tours 2 PM - 5 PM  Hamel Recreation Center Check out the Hamel Recreation Center. There's so much to discover with five fitness spaces, seven multipurpose courts, three fitness studios, and an outdoor gear equipment room.
Find Your Classes Tours 3:30 PM  Hood House  Bring your course schedule and meet outside of Hood House on campus. Orientation Leaders will help you find your classes for the upcoming semester! 
Men's Soccer 5 PM Wildcat Stadium Watch UNH’s Four-Time  American East Champion Men’s Soccer Team in their first home game of the season against Boston University.  No tickets needed.
Honors Welcome S'mores 6 PM - 7 PM Behind Hubbard Hall Join us to meet the other incoming Honors students and upper division Honors student leaders
BINGO! 8 PM Granite State Room, MUB Wrap up your first weekend at UNH at BINGO, a UNH fan favorite. Prizes included!
Monday
Find your FIT 6 PM - 9 PM Memorial Field This event includes a mechanical bull, dodgeball tournament, inflatable attractions, pizza, and music. Explore opportunities within Campus Rec including sport clubs, intramural sports, group exercise, and outdoor adventures, among others.
