These times call us to clearly put our collective power to work to build institutions and practices that advance sustainability. Ethical commitments are at the heart of our shared work that we undertake in solidarity with the Black community, with peaceful protesters, and individuals all over the world working for racial justice. Our deepest sympathies go out to the loved ones of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and the countless other people affected by this nation’s history of killing black, brown and indigenous people. Civil rights, human rights, and environmental justice are indivisible.
Education plays a unique role in this and is a powerful tool and immense responsibility. Through our partnership with the Carsey School of Public Policy, the Paul College of Business & Economics in the Changemaker Collaborative we bring a suite of high-impact programs to students who are driven to make positive change in the world. In order for all students to fully grasp the brutal and systemic history that defines our racial, economic and environmental landscape today, they must have deep knowledge as well as the courage, confidence and the right skills to solve difficult problems.
