UNH Family Weekend FAQs

Answers to frequently asked questions about the UNH Family Weekend can be found here.

Family Weekend includes programming and demonstrations that can all be attended for FREE! If you would like to attend the meals, Football or Hockey games, tickets must be purchased in advance.

Tickets to Saturday’s Post-Game Dinner ($20/person) and Sunday’s Pancake Breakfast ($15/person) are available upon registration for Family weekend. Tickets are also required for the Women’s Hockey game on Sunday afternoon (2PM).

We encourage all those coming in for Family Weekend to register. This allows us to keep you up to date on programming. All registrants will receive a small UNH sticker and tickets to enter our Family Weekend giveaways.

We look forward to hosting the parents and families of ALL returning students, not just those who are new to UNH.

There will be a full list of activities happening around campus. Details will be updated on the Family Weekend web page, and a printed schedule will be available at the check-in tent. Additionally, the area surrounding Durham has plenty to offer, whether it’s exploring hiking trails, strolling around downtown Portsmouth, shopping at the outlets in nearby Kittery, Maine or taking in a show at the Portsmouth Music Hall. Family Weekend will take place rain or shine. Please keep an eye on the weather and plan accordingly. In the event of rain, all edits to the schedule will be posted online.

Unfortunately, due to the amount of advance planning, we cannot issue any refunds.

Visitors on Saturday and Sunday are encouraged to park in the lots highlighted in yellow (with the exception of Lot N) in our UNH Parking Map. All locations indicated above are free and do not require passes. If you are arriving on campus before 6:00PM on Friday, you should refer to the Visitor parking information page

The Weekend Connector Shuttle runs every 25-30 minutes from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Here are links to the schedule and mapWeekend Connector Schedule (unh.edu)

Tickets for UNH Football, tailgating, and Women’s Hockey games can be purchased online at UNHs Ticket Office.

No, tailgating for UNH Football games is a separate add-on in the ticketing website. Attendees not planning to tailgate should refer to the “Where do I park” question above for more information on parking.

The cutoff date to purchase tickets for the Post-game Dinner or the Pancake Breakfast is Monday, September 25 at 9:00AM.

Yes, those registered for Family Weekend will be provided a discounted meal ticket at check-in. For those not registered, we offer pay-at-the-door pricing at all of our dining halls for each meal. Visit https://www.unh.edu/dining/visiting-campus for more information regarding our dining options and pricing.  UNH Dining has gone cashless, please plan to pay with a credit card.

UNH undergraduate students are supplied with a free general admission football tickets as part of their activities fee. The Family Weekend package extends general admission access for families to sit with their students in any GA seating. Families hoping to purchase seating outside of General Admission will need to buy a separate ticket for their students if they would like to sit together.
