He also worked as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at DEKA Research and Development in Manchester for two summers. Ian was passionate about being sustainable in his everyday life and spreading this awareness to others. He was also excited about the potential of engineering to create a more sustainable world. Ian became the Sustainability Advocate for Engelhardt Hall to educate others and create awareness about how individuals can live more sustainably. During his time as a Sustainability Advocate, Ian enjoyed collaborating with his peers from other halls to increase awareness of sustainability throughout the UNH student body. For the fall semester, he hosted a planting social which increased awareness about the effects of plants on the environment.
