SAARA's Director to Present at the 2025 NASW National Conference

SAARA’s Director, Dr. Corinna Jenkins Tucker, will present “Social Workers are Key to Address Sibling Aggression and Abuse as Widespread Public Health Problems,” co-authored with Drs. Tanya Rouleau Whitworth, Assistant Director of SAARA, and Nathan H. Perkins, Associate Professor of Social Work and SAARA Advisory Board member, at the 2025 National Association of Social Workers (NASW) conference, June 15-21, in Chicago, Illinois. NASW is the largest professional organization of social workers in the world.
In our presentation, we argue that social workers have a critical role in identifying and responding to sibling aggression and abuse, the most common form of family violence. We also advocate for social workers to receive professional training on sibling aggression and abuse because they are unrecognized public health problems that have important connections to lifelong mental and physical health and relationship difficulties.
We are looking forward to generating awareness among social workers about sibling aggression and abuse and the need for training and resources to address this significant public health problem. For more information, see SAARA’s resources for professionals and practitioners.
