Faculty igniting alumni pride

Alumni feel pride for their alma mater. Pride is significantly reinforced when alumni learn about faculty's ground-breaking research and contributions to the global knowledge economy. It helps keep UNH relevant in their lives.

Training

Frequent workshops equip select UNH faculty with strategies to successfully engage alumni in their research. Training further prepares faculty for discussions with New Hampshire alumni and alumni in cities across the nation.

Workshops include hands-on and highly interactive activities. Faculty practice communicating complex research stories to lay people. They practice strategically connecting with alumni by asking key questions and recognizing important information to share.

The result is Faculty Ambassadors and Faculty Ambassador Liaisons who confidently attend events and advance UNH's Alumni Relations agenda.

Faculty benefit by identifying alumni mentors for their students, speakers for their classes and student job opportunities. They've also made connections that advance their research.

Events

Alumni Relations has a number of events where faculty participation is welcome and appreciated. Faculty presence at events builds and reinforces key UNH relationships.

Sample events:

-Commencement Eve Reception
-UNH Reunion Weekend
-Holiday Reception at President's Residence
-Seacoast Network Holiday Party
-Lobster Bake
-Washington DC Executive Forum

Faculty Ambassador Dev Dutta

"I have been fascinated and honored to meet alumni at events and learn about the bonds they share with UNH through connections that sometimes span generations. I have found them to be passionate about giving their time, listening to student and program success stories and working with the university to take it to the next level. I consider myself fortunate to be a part of this wonderful institution.”
