Jasmine Ho

College of Life Sciences and Agriculture
Pronouns: She/Her(s)
Year: Junior
Major: Biomedical Laboratory Sciences: Medical Laboratory Sciences Option
Campus Involvement: United Asian Coalition, Vietnamese Student Association, CONNECT, Trio Scholars, Pre-McNair, McNair, Innovation Scholars, etc.
Fun Fact about yourself: I’m a regular user of the Olympus microscope in the UIC room at Parsons and forklift certified!
Favorite thing about CONNECT: The people !! I’ve come to make CONNECTions with genuinely good people through this program that I could relate to given my intersectional identity. These bonds I had early on provided me with good raport and support that I didn’t realize how much I needed when I was transitioning into this new phase of my life.
Advice to 1st Year Students: Work hard, play harder !! Work-life balance is important. As much as you should value and develop your professional and academic goals, it shouldn’t take complete precedence. Give just as much attention as you do to work to things pertaining to your personal life and relationships !! For me, nothing means more than to share my wins and losses with the people I know who’ll stick by to celebrate and support me.
