What is the UNH Sesquicentennial ?

In fall 2016, the university will launch “UNH: Wildly Successful. Since 1866.”

This year-long celebration will showcase UNH’s legacy of success, innovative research, impact and engagement.  Programs and events across our campuses – and across New Hampshire – offer great opportunities to build pride and awareness for UNH.

How can you take part?

Please share your ideas!  Support is available for projects that engage students in the sesquicentennial through their academic work.

Projects must meet four criteria:

  • Convey the significance of the sesquicentennial and support the celebration

  • Engage students’ creativity and curiosity

  • Showcase a specific UNH success or innovation

  • Highlight UNH’s land-grant mission and/or its influence in the world

Submit your ideas at  unh.edu/150  by Sept. 30, 2015.

You will be notified by Dec. 15, 2015 if your project is selected.

Tuesday, November 10, 2015 will follow Wednesday’s schedule

Dear Faculty and Staff Colleagues,

You may recall that last spring the Faculty Senate, in consultation with Academic Affairs, approved the motion NOT to cancel classes on the Fall Break Day, and instead approved canceling classes on the Wednesday before the Thanksgiving break. Unfortunately, this combined with the fact that Veteran’s Day falls on a Wednesday this fall, has led to a discrepancy between the number of classes that are offered on TR and MW.

In order to correct this oversight, and to ensure that we have the same number of TR and MW (28 each), we (after careful consultation with various constituents) have decided that Tuesday, November 10, 2015 will follow Wednesday’s schedule.

Thank you,

Deborah Kinghorn – Chair, Faculty Senate

Andy Colby – Registrar

PT Vasudevan – Interim Provost and VP Academic Affairs
