UNH Professor to Speak at National Commission on BP Oil Spill

DURHAM, N.H. - Nancy Kinner, professor of civil and environmental engineering at the University of New Hampshire, will speak before the National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and Offshore Drilling in Washington, D.C., today (Sept. 27, 2010). Kinner, who is co-director of the UNH/NOAA Coastal Response Research Center, was asked to speak about the use of dispersants in the response to the spill.

UNH Hosts 'Tasteful Contradictions' Gourmet Dinner Oct. 22 and 23

DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire will host six-courses of food and wine contradictions at two gourmet dinners Friday, Oct. 22, and Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010.

Organized by the hospitality management students at the Whittemore School of Business and Economics, "Tasteful Contradictions" will be held at Stillings, 20 Ballard Drive, beginning with a cocktail hour and hors d'oeuvres at 6 p.m. and dinner to follow.

UNH and Chinese Officials Partner to Launch the University of New Hampshire Confucius Institute

DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire and Chinese officials will launch the state's only Confucius Institute with a series of events Oct. 26-27, 2010. The nonprofit educational institution, which will sponsor classes in Chinese language and culture, will be housed at UNH.
