The Miltenyi Biotec MACSQuant VYB flow cytometer is an 8-color, 3-laser benchtop system with autosampler capable of cell analysis by forward scatter, side scatter, and detection of fluorescence. The three lasers excite fluors at 405, 488 and 561 nm and the resulting fluorescence can be collected on two (430-475 nm and 500-550 nm), two (500-550 nm and 593-650 nm), and four (579-594 nm, 605-625 nm, 651-671 nm, and >740 nm) channels, respectively. The unit has an embedded operating system, MACSQuantify, and 15.6” monitor with touchscreen operation. Autosampler has robotic needle arm and is compatible with 5 ml tubes and 96-well plates. Sample consumption between 25 and 100 µL/min. Flow rate can be automatically adjusted to maintain 500, 1000, or 2000 events/sec. An integrated Cell Enrichment Unit allows rare cells, magnetically and fluor labeled (up to 5 x 106 cells), to be pre-enriched and analyzed in less time than would otherwise be required and the entire process of cell labeling, pre-enrichment, and analysis can potentially be fully automated by MACSQuantify. Compensation can be performed automatically or manually, during or after acquisition.
