About the Office

The provost works closely with the academic deans, department heads, student services professionals, faculty and staff to provide the highest possible quality of educational programs, both within and outside the classroom, for undergraduate and graduate students. An important part of the provost’s job is also to insure that we recruit, retain, encourage and support an outstanding and diverse faculty; each of whom will make positive contributions to the university and to their discipline in the areas of teaching, scholarship and service.

Below are brief descriptions with links to departments and programs that report to the provost.

Academic Administration

Academic Administration provides information on policies and procedures for faculty, staff, and departments under the general direction of the provost.

Academic Affairs

Academic Affairs fosters scholarly collaboration among faculty, students, and staff to enrich the academic life of the University of New Hampshire.

Colleges & Programs

Students who choose to enroll at the University of New Hampshire often do so because of the seemingly endless options offered through an accessible system of UNH colleges and schools.

 Engagement & Outreach

Engagement & Outreach provides a pathway to explore the many ways in which our faculty, extension educators, staff, and students impact your daily lives through outreach, discovery, and engaged scholarship. Engagement and Academic Outreach enhances the quality of life for citizens across New Hampshire, the New England region, and the world.

UNH research has had a notably positive impact on the community across a broad range of research areas, due to the efforts of faculty, students, and staff working in the colleges and focused research centers and institutes.

Sustainability is a core value of UNH, shaping our culture, informing our behavior, and is a guiding principle in everything we do.
