A Message From The University Police Chief:
As the Chief of Police, it is my true pleasure to welcome you to the University of New Hampshire campus community. We consider ourselves your police department – putting service, integrity, and transparency above all else. Whether you are one of our students, our colleagues, or just visiting our beautiful campus community, we hope you enjoy your time with us and welcome you to share in our commitment to provide a safe and caring environment where everyone can pursue their educational & research endeavors.
The University of New Hampshire Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency consisting of sworn & state-certified police officers & investigators, an emergency communications center, a uniformed campus security division, and key administrative support staff. In addition, we maintain very strong collaborative relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement partners in the furtherance of hosting large-scale events, and our campus safety mission, in general. We are very proud of, and are committed to, our long-standing dual accreditations through IACLEA, as well as our advanced accreditation status through CALEA.
On this web site, we hope to highlight some of the various services our department provides such as personal safety planning, hostile-event response training, campus escort service, our comfort dog program, electronic device / scooter registration, and how to report an emergency situation or other calls-for-service. You will also find information regarding campus advisories & emergency alerts, crime statistics, crime prevention, as well as victim/witness advocacy & prosecution services.
Through our educational and outreach programs, information-sharing, as well as a reassuring police and security presence, we can accomplish our goal of maintaining a safe and closely knit campus community. As the University’s police department, we strive, everyday, to help all of our community members to thrive, engage in meaningful and respectful dialogue, grow in their educational and professional pursuits, and look back on their time spent at UNH with pride!
