Just in Time for Planting Season: New Squash, Melon, and Pumpkin Seeds Developed at UNH Now Available

Gardeners preparing to plant their fruits and vegetables have a number of new summer squash, melon and pumpkins to choose from this year that were developed at the NH Agricultural Experiment Station at the University of New Hampshire by a researcher who represents the longest continuous squash and pumpkin breeding program in North America.

Scientists to Discuss Latest Research at UNH Macfarlane Research Greenhouses March 31

Researchers with the NH Agricultural Experiment Station will discuss their latest research at the Macfarlane Research Greenhouses at a Research Field Day Friday, March 31. The event, which will be held as part of the UNH Spring Greenhouse Open House, runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. It is free and open to the public.

UNH Researcher to Discuss Farming and Climate Variability at March 7 Event

John Aber, professor of natural resources at the University of New Hampshire and researcher with the NH Agricultural Experiment Station, will discuss future climate and land use scenarios and provide an overview of UNH’s innovative composting and energy capture facility in his keynote address at the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association Spring Growth Conference Saturday, March 7, 2015.

Spring Arrives at the UNH Macfarlane Research Greenhouses April 1-2

Ready to get out and start planting? Come welcome spring with a visit to the University of New Hampshire Macfarlane Research Greenhouses during the annual spring open house Friday and Saturday, April 1 and 2, 2016. This year’s event will provide displays and plenty of information to help grow your garden. The greenhouses will be open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. both days.
