Fall 2021 SITC @ UNH Fellow
Sawyer Rogers Headshot

Sawyer was a double major in Political Science and History. On campus, he was involved with the Student Senate, Genealogy Club, and the Turkish and Latin Language Groups. Off campus, he served as a member of the New Hampshire Teacher of the Year Committee, worked at a retirement home, and volunteered in his community. While participating in the SITC @ UNH program, Sawyer served as an intern for the UNH Institute on Disability. Within this role, he worked to create a disability statistics curriculum, the first of its kind. This work helped Sawyer develop his research skills, particularly in the quantitative realm. He was excited to take part in Semester in the City to explore new skills and to experience Boston while also benefiting from all Durham has to offer. Sawyer was also passionate about accessibility and engagement, topics that this internship allowed him to further pursue.
