The Thermo Scientific LTQ Obitrap Velos provides exact mass measurements (m/z 50-4000) with resolution of >60,000 and mass accuracy of <3 ppm, or 1 ppm with the use of lockmass. The multiple fragmentation techniques, high collision dissociation(HCD) and collision induced dissociation (CID), enable complete structural information to be obtained through MS and MSn analysis.
Our system offers molecular weight (exact mass) measurements of small molecules and macromolecules with ultra-low sample volume consumption (nanoliter to microliter) in complex samples by minimizing false positive identi- fication. The ultra-high resolution provides certainty in analytical results by enabling molecular weight determination for intact proteins and in-depth analysis of isobaric species. The new HCD cell in the LTQ Orbitrap Velos is more efficient, resulting in improved quantitation of isobarically- labeled peptides, such as applications requiring Tandem Mass Tags (TMT). Electron Transfer Dissociation (ETD) generates com- plementary information for highly sensitive PTM analyses and de novo sequencing and is designed to help researchers achieve top performance in LC-MS.
