UNH and GSC Merger Update; Systems Integration Begins in April

The GSC and UNH official merger date of July 1, 2023, is fast approaching. After 18 months of intensive work by many across the university system, we are getting ready for the integration between Granite State College (GSC) and UNH Manchester (UNHM) into the new UNH College of Professional Studies (CPS). We are approaching important milestones toward the benefits of the merger, which include enhancing our support of online learners in our state and region, expanding online offerings across UNH, and bringing the strength of the UNH brand to GSC programs within the College of Professional Studies.

The next milestone impacting some of you is a data migration during a planned Banner Student downtime over April 16–19. Though there is never a perfect time, faculty and staff working on the merger leadership teams have determined that these dates will have the least impact on ongoing operations.

Planned Banner Student Downtime April 16–19, 2023. In preparation for Summer 2023 registration, we will bring the GSC and UNH Banner systems down to migrate GSC student data into UNH Banner, the timing of which is important to enable uninterrupted dispersal of financial aid. It will also allow us to incorporate summer registration processes for these new UNH students.

When Banner is offline during this period, the following key applications will be unavailable:

  • Banner Student
  • WebCat / WebRock
  • Degree Works
  • UNH Parent Portal

We are developing an informational page here and will continue to update it with resources and helpful links that students and employees may need during this time.

Looking Ahead. GSC students will become UNH students with their first UNH classes beginning this summer. UNHM undergraduate students will expand their access to approved classes through UNH online offerings starting in the fall. We look forward to CPS joining the broader UNH community in its mission to serve the workforce needs of the state and region.

Future Updates. Leaders in the Merger Program will begin sending regular communications in the coming weeks to share merger information and activities. For now, please check out the following:
