In appreciation for the role OLLI at UNH plays in enriching your life, we invite you to explore a variety of tax-wise giving options to support our learning community.
Donations of any amount work immediately to maintain affordable membership and course fees, support our course fee assistance program and build OLLI at UNH’s capacity to provide an outstanding member experience.
Please help OLLI achieve 100% member participation. Demonstrate your support for OLLI and the example set by Mr. Osher and the Bernard Osher Foundation.
Your donation goes directly to OLLI and is tax deductible.
Check or Debit/Credit Card
Your gift has an immediate impact for OLLI at UNH. If you itemize your taxes, you may be eligible for an income tax deduction for the full value of your gift. You can give a one-time gift or even set up a recurring contribution to our organization.
To mail in a donation check, you can send your check noting a donation for OLLI at UNH to the UNH Foundation at 9 Edgewood Rd, Durham NH 03824.
gifts through your Ira or retirement account
Beginning at the age of 701/2, you can make tax-free gifts directly from your IRA to OLLI at UNH (up to $108,000 per year in 2025). This is known as a Qualified Charitable Distribution or IRA Charitable Rollover. Starting at the age of 73, your gift can also count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). You may also name OLLI at UNH a beneficiary of your retirement funds.
Appreciated Securities (Stocks or mutual funds)
By donating securities you've owned for more than one year, you may receive the same income tax deduction as a cash gift - plus you can avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciation.
donor advised funds (DAFs)
A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is a tax-wise way to give—allowing you to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax benefit, and recommend grants to OLLI at UNH over time. By recommending a grant from your DAF, you help ensure that our vibrant learning community continues to grow and thrive for years to come.
charitable gift annuity
With a gift annuity, you make a donation of cash, securities, or other assets and received fixed, reliable payments for life - for yourself or a loved one. You will also enjoy the tax benefits. At the end of the annuity, the remaining balances go to support programming. Donors must be 60 or older to establish a gift annuity.
