Youth Tennis: Level 1

Youth Tennis Clinics: Level 1 Fall 2023

The tennis clinics offer participants a 3-session introduction to tennis. This clinic focuses on developing quick tennis strokes and mechanics while also learning to love physical education.

No previous experience is required. In the Level 1 clinics, participants will use the lightest and softest tennis ball and a junior-sized net in order to develop tennis skills.

The clinic is for youth in Grades 1-6. Participants are grouped by age and/or tennis skill level.

Participants are welcome to bring their own racquet. If the student brings their own racquet, these guidelines are recommended:

  • Ages 6-8 should play with a 23-inch racquet
  • Ages 8-10 would be best suited to a 25-inch racquet
  • Ages 9-11 should be playing with a 26-inch racquet

Sessions 1 and 2 will be held at the UNH Outdoor Tennis Courts, adjacent to the UNH Field House, 145 Main St., Durham NH

Sessions 3 will be held at the Hamel Recreation Center, 5 Edgewood Rd., Durham NH

Additional information regarding program drop off and pick up will be sent via email from the Campus Recreation staff the day before the session begins.

Campus Recreation does not offer refunds for Youth Programs and there are no refunds for missed sessions.

Online Registration Instructions: please review before enrolling for the best outcome. Family Accounts are recommended for enrolling a child or children in any UNH Youth Program. Note: if you have an account in our system already, you will be asked to log into either a family or student account. Be sure you know which account you have and know your username and password. This will minimize difficulty and time while enrolling. Do not create a new account if you have one already.

Important – Please Read!

CampDoc: UNH has partnered with CampDoc to quicken the enrollment process. Enrollments and payments will still be done here through our current enrollment system, but no registration questions will be required at that time. Within a few days of enrolling, the email provided in the student/family account will receive an email prompting completion of the registration questions.

Due to very brief timelines between enrollment and the program start date, it is important that a parent/guardian respond to the CampDoc email and complete the registration questions promptly. A participant’s CampDoc profile must be 100% complete before they can attend the program. Families who enrolled a child through our current enrollment system in the Summer of 2023 will have a CampDoc account. A parent/guardian will need to log into the student account and complete any necessary questions for this program.

For more information, review our “What’s New in 2023?” document.
