STARS Summer Dance Intensive
Junior Prerequisite (Ages 10–12): Formal dance training of at least 3 consecutive years is recommended.
Senior Prerequisite (Ages 13+): Formal dance training of at least 5 consecutive years is recommended.
Dancers in grades 5-12 are invited to participate in our popular Dance Intensive Summer Series. This unique program, offering an array of dance disciplines and styles, will be taught by skilled & passionate dance professionals, including faculty, alumni, and students from the acclaimed UNH Dance program. Students will study many different dance forms and receive hours of inspiring classes, improving their technique in all genres: ballet, lyrical, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and aerial dance.
Dancers will be grouped primarily by age and ability, based on an assessment on the first day of camp. While groups are primarily organized by age, students who are close to the age guideline may be placed in a different group to help maintain balanced class sizes. Please note that while we understand dancers may have friends attending the camp, we cannot guarantee that they will be placed in the same group. Appropriate dance or movement attire is required. Tap shoes are not required if the student does not already have them. A Showcase Performance will wrap up the week. Campers will each lunch in a UNH dining hall.
