Learn to Swim - Private Lessons

Private Swim Lessons - Fall 2025

Private Swim Lessons (one participant) are available for children ages 3-13 who need individual attention, have special needs, learn better in a one-on-one environment, or have unique scheduling needs. Lesson participants must be at least 3 years old.

Please read the following information thoroughly!

Lesson Information:

• Private lessons are 30 minutes in length and can be purchased in blocks of 4 or 8 lessons:
  • 4 Block - $135 per student
  • 8 Block - $230 per student
• Private lesson enrollment opens on the following Wednesdays at 7pm:
  • Session 1: Wednesday, September 3 - 4 and 8 Block available. 4 Block and 8 Block is Full.
  • Session 2: Wednesday, October 1 - 4 Block only available. 
  • Session 3: Wednesday, October 15 - 4 Block only available.
• All lessons must be completed December 12, 2025. Please take this into account when registering.
• Refunds are not provided for private lessons, including for any unfinished lessons.
• All lessons are held at the Swasey Indoor Pool at the UNH Field House, 145 Main St., Durham, NH. See below for Parking Information.

Registration Information:

• Students must be at least 3 years old at the start of lessons.
• Space is limited - enroll early to guarantee a spot!
• How to Enroll: Click the '+' on the session registration block to choose your session and enroll. Review the Online Registration Instructions before enrolling for the best outcome.
• The session block will indicate whether there are openings (i.e. "Enroll Now/Add to Cart"). If the session is full or the session block does not appear, choose the other lesson block (if open) or enroll during the next session's registration period. Please note that enrollment caps and deadlines are in place to control the quantity of lessons and to provide the best level of response and scheduling of lessons.
• Family Accounts are recommended for enrolling multiple children from one family in any UNH Youth Program. If you already have an account in our system, you will be asked to log into either a Family or Student Account after adding the program to your shopping cart. Be sure to use the username and password for the type of account you wish to log into. We recommend attempting to log into the Student or Family account before enrollment opens as this will minimize difficulty and time while enrolling. Email youth.programs@unh.edu if you require assistance recovering your account information. Do not create a new account if you have one already.
• If you don't have an account already, you can set up an account at any time, even before you begin the registration process. If you are setting up a student account, the account must be in the name of student, but the email address provided in the profile should be that of a parent/legal guardian, not the participating student. Review the Online Registration Instructions before creating a new account.
• If you are on the website prior to 7pm and do not see the registration blocks or they do not appear to be open, you may need to refresh the page. 
• Weekend dates for lessons may not be available every week due to event and facility closures.
• Full payment online via credit card is required at the time of enrollment.

CampDoc:

• Within a few days of enrolling, the email provided in the Student/Family Account will receive an email from "University of New Hampshire via CampDoc" prompting completion of the registration questions. Please complete this ASAP as lessons cannot be scheduled until all questions are complete.
• You will be asked to indicate an anticipated Swim Level in the CampDoc registration questions. Consult the Swim Level Chart. If you are unsure what you or your child's swim level is, select 'unsure' during registration and the instructor will do a swim evaluation during the first lesson. 

How Lessons are Scheduled:

• Indicating lesson day/time preferences are asked as part of the CampDoc registration questions. Families must choose at least two available days/times.
• Once the CampDoc registration questions are complete, the Swim Lesson Coordinator will make initial contact via email. This initial contact cannot occur until the student's CampDoc profile is 100% complete. Timely completion will ensure that lessons can begin promptly and be concluded before the required end date.
• Final lesson days & times are arranged between the instructor and parent/guardian once paired with an instructor.
