Kid Cooks & Crafts

Kid Cooks & Crafts

Kids Cooks and Crafts is a fun and interactive 3-session series designed for students in Grades 1-6!

In this engaging program, kids will develop essential skills in food handling, preparation, and safety while enjoying creative craft activities. Each session includes hands-on cooking time, a craft project while waiting for creations to cook/bake, and learning to clean up workstations.

All materials are provided, but for safety, participants must wear closed-toed shoes and have long hair pulled back. Remember, learning can be messy, so wear clothing that’s okay to get dirty!

All sessions are held at the Hamel Recreation Center's Demonstration Kitchen, 5 Edgewood Rd., Durham, NH. Additional information regarding program drop off and pick up will be sent via email from the program staff the day before the session begins.

Click the '+' on the block for the session you want to register for, then click "Enroll Now" to add the session to your shopping cart. Repeat this step for as many sessions as you want to register for. Review the Online Registration Instructions before registering for the best outcome.

If you don't have an account in our system, you can set one up at any time. The Online Registration Instructions link above also provides guidance for creating a new account. Family Accounts are recommended when registering for a youth program. The account should be created in the name of the parent/guardian. Students are added as "members" after the account is created.

If you have an account in our system, you will be asked to log into your Student Account or Family Account after adding the session(s) to your shopping cart. We recommend attempting to log into your account before registration opens as this will minimize difficulty and time while registering. Email youth.programs@unh.edu if you require assistance recovering your account information. Do not create a new account if you have one already.

Payments are made online at the time of registration. Accepted forms of payment for youth programs are VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Paper checks are accepted only under very limited circumstances (ex: from a school or organization). We do not accept cash payments or e-checks and we cannot take payments over the phone.

A participant cannot attend a youth program unless they are paid in full. Any participant with an unpaid balance may be locked from future enrollment in any youth program until the balance is paid.

Academic Year Youth Programs

In addition to the program fees, participants in academic year youth programs are subject to a non-refundable $5 registration fee once per student per semester at checkout. This fee supports use of our supplemental registration software.

Refund Procedures

Refund procedures are set by the department running the program. The procedures will be stated on the program webpage. If the session is canceled by UNH before the session start date, a full refund will be issued.

For instructions on requesting a Drop or Transfer: To Request a Drop or Transfer

CampDoc is the platform for UNH youth programs to collect registration and health information for participating students.

Within a few days of registering, you will receive an email from "University of New Hampshire via CampDoc" at the address provided during registration prompting completion of the participating student's CampDoc Profile. Families who have participated in a youth program previously will likely already have a CampDoc account. Once you receive this email, a parent/guardian will need to log into the student's account to complete all required questions for the current enrollment(s). Completing the profile early gives UNH staff ample time to finalize program arrangements and provide any necessary follow-up.

A student cannot attend a youth program until their CampDoc Profile is 100% complete. The due date for completing the profile is indicated in both the CampDoc email and while completing the registration questions. If the profile is not complete by that date, the student may be dropped from the program.

For more information, visit our CampDoc page.
