Eligibility to Participate in Commencement

May Graduates

Undergraduates who expect to complete their degree requirements in May 2024 must file an Apply-to-Graduate form with the Registrar’s Office through Webcat, before they can register to participate in the Commencement ceremony.

The deadline to file your intent to graduate form is March 25.

Master and CAGS Graduates

Master's and CAGS students who expect to complete their degree program in May 2024, as well as those who expect to complete their programs the following September, are eligible to participate in the May Commencement ceremony.

Students must file an Apply-to-Graduate form with the Registrar's Office on Blackboard, through Webcat in order to be invited to participate in the Commencement ceremony.

The deadline to file your intent to graduate form is April 18.

Doctoral Candidates

Doctoral students who expect to graduate in May must have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. by the published deadlines in order to participate in Commencement ceremonies. Only those candidates who have completed their program are listed in the Commencement program.

Special instructions regarding the hooding ceremony will be sent to all Ph.D. students and their sponsors by the Graduate School once they indicate their intention to participate in the ceremony.

September and December 2022 Graduates

Both graduate and undergraduate students who received their degree in September or December of 2023 will be invited to participate in the Commencement ceremony in May 2024.

Undergraduates who will be completing their degree requirements in September or December 2024 may participate in the May ceremony if they have earned at least 120 credits and are within 8 credits of completing their degree by the end of the Spring semester. Undergraduates who meet these requirements must file an Apply-to-Graduate form for the semester in which you will complete your requirements in order to register to attend the ceremony.

Commencement Program

Students who file their Intent-to-Graduate form by March 28 will be listed in the digital Commencement program.
