Vision Quest

A 2017 guest lecture appearance at RiverWoods retirement community in Exeter has resulted in an estate sale purchase of a second observatory for the University of New Hampshire, one that brings new technology to students conducting research and utilizes an optical system long coveted by the UNH Astronomy Committee.

Rescue Mission

COLSA’s department of agriculture, nutrition, and food systems (ANFS), UNH Hospitality Services, and Gather, a food pantry and food distribution network based in Portsmouth, are turning unused food into ready-to-eat meals for those in need.

Jump Seat to History

34 student volunteers helped power McGregor Memorial EMS, the primary ambulance service for Durham, UNH, Madbury and Lee, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Not only did the student-volunteers, who comprise about half the service’s staff, continue volunteering, they gave a record amount of their time in 2020: more than 40,000 hours, an increase of 5,000 hours from the previous year, according to McGregor executive director Chris Lemelin ’06 ‘11G.
