Pride and Pancakes is an annual breakfast celebration at the University of New Hampshire that honors and uplifts the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies. First held in 1993, this long-standing event brings together students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members for a morning of connection, reflection, and celebration of inclusivity and pride. During the event, attendees enjoy a breakfast buffet alongside keynote speakers and presentations that emphasize community, respect, and shared experiences. Pride and Pancakes is part of UNH’s broader April programming that acknowledges the history, contributions, and ongoing work related to LGBTQIA+ awareness and inclusion.
A central feature of Pride and Pancakes is the presentation of the Bill Kidder LGBTQIA+ Awards, which honor individuals and groups who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, advocacy, and support for LGBTQIA+ inclusion on campus. Recipients include faculty, staff, and students whose efforts have helped foster a welcoming and equitable environment at UNH. The event’s joyful and inclusive atmosphere reflects decades of progress and community building, celebrating both achievements and the ongoing journey toward equity for all identities.
