UNH PrOVES
Pre-Orientation Volunteer Experience in Service
August 18-23, 2013
Application - available Jan 1
PrOVES is unique opportunity for service oriented students to learn more about the local community. Participants arrive on the Sunday before opening weekend and spend the week getting to know one another while volunteering at various sites throughout the community.
Led by upperclass PrOVES staff, “ PrOVERs ” spend the week serving with local organizations and providing valuable service while learning about the Greater Seacoast area. Service activities include working at historic sites, maintaining trails on the Great Bay and wearing clown suits for a local nursing home carnaval.
Evening adventures include a campus-wide scavenger hunt, ice cream social, and an open-mic coffee house/talent show.
PrOVES participants move into their residence halls early, learn about campus activities and resources, and form friendships that last through their four years at UNH and beyond.
A registration fee of $225 covers all program costs such as early move in, housing, meals, site transportation, supplies, and PrOVES t-shirts.
