Alum, Boston Globe Health Reporter to Discuss Career at UNH April 11

DURHAM, N.H. - Boston Globe health reporter Chelsea Conaboy has been named the 2012 Donald Murray Visiting Journalist at the University of New Hampshire. She will discuss her career as a health reporter and share her experiences with journalism students during her weeklong visit beginning April 9, 2012.

As part of her week at UNH, Conaboy'04, will present "10 Years in a Newsroom: The Things I've Found Worth Fighting For," Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at 5 p.m. in MUB Theatre I. The event is free and open to the public.

UNH Research Brings New Understanding to Past Global Warming Events

DURHAM, N.H. - A series of global warming events called hyperthermals that occurred more than 50 million years ago had a similar origin to a much larger hyperthermal of the period, the Pelaeocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum (PETM), new research has found. The findings, published in Nature Geoscience online on April 1, 2012, represent a breakthrough in understanding the major "burp" of carbon, equivalent to burning the entire reservoir of fossil fuels on Earth, that occurred during the PETM.

UNH Equestrians Win Regional Championships

DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire's Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) team has won the team regional championship for the northern New England region for the second consecutive year, amassing more points during the eight-competition season than teams from 11 other schools in the region.
