UNH experience inspires Mel Nagashima ’22 to pursue nonprofit work

Monday, July 25, 2022

Mel Nagashima ’22 chose UNH to escape his comfort zone and wound up leaving with a job that will allow him to impact his own community. Nagashima was able to work helping immigrant families with the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center during his time in the Semester-in-the-City program, and that ultimately pushed him to pursue work in the field of nonprofit communications, where he landed a full-time job after graduation with the Boston Foundation. Nagashima credits his studies in communication and international affairs, as well as the real-world experience gained through Semester-in-the-City, for paving the way to his current professional path.
