Immigration Resources
Immigration enforcement activity in the State of Maine has prompted questions about the legal protections for international students, scholars, and employees, and about how to respond in the event of immigration enforcement activity on one of our campuses. As of this writing, we are not aware of broad immigration enforcement actions in New Hampshire.
The USNH General Counsel’s Office, in collaboration with the Office of International Students and Scholars and others, has prepared two resources:
- Know Your Rights – Information and Resources
- Protocol in the Event of Immigration Enforcement Actions
Additionally, the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) remains the main resource for international students and scholars with questions about their status and regulatory updates and maintains a website with travel and regulatory updates that are relevant to our international community.
Community members are encouraged to review these materials so they are informed if they come into contact with federal immigration authorities.
This is an uncertain and difficult time for many in our community. We are here to support you. Please make use of these resources, and do not hesitate to reach out to your manager, OISS, or the contacts listed in the documents if you have questions or need help.
